From the South
Go north on Rt 22. When you are 4.5 miles past the town of Millerton on Rt 22 turn right on White House Crossing Rd. Take first left north on Boston Corners Rd. You’ll see the Mt. Brace Outdoor Club with a windsock on the left a mile up.


From the North
Go south on Rt 22. Go past the town of Hillsdale. After passing Rt 3 and a gas station on the right, turn left on Under Mountain Rd. Go straight at the stop sign on Boston Corners Rd. You’ll see the Mt. Brace Outdoor Club with a windsock on the right.

Altitude: 2,300' MSL / 1,600’ AGL 

P3/H3 (P2/H2 Observed) 

Wind direction: WNW-WSW (250-290° ideal, 230-310° possible)

Wind strength: 8-10mph ideal; 0-15mph possible

Glide ratio to LZ: 3.6

No flying when winds exceed 26 MPH. No radical speed wings, or intentional proximity flying.


Launch faces valley below. Spacious, open with good height over the LZ. Smooth and kind to beginners in the morning and late afternoons. Great XC potential for more advanced pilots. 


There are two options for access: a thirty minute drive around the back of the mountain, then a thirty-five minute trail hike through the woods, or a 60-90 minute mountain goat hike up the face. 


A State Park permit governs this launch site. Pilots must check in for the day and notify the Park Ranger before going to launch.
